About

So you want to settle your debts? Well you’ve arrived at the place which has been created to help you do this. My name is Genivive and since 1996, I have been getting to grips with the best way to get rid of debts. I finally managed to become debt free in 2001. This was after I sold my house and used the proceeds to clear around £20,000 ($40,000) worth of debts.

You might say, that selling my house was a bit of a drastic measure? Well not for me it wasn’t. I was able to clear the decks and start all over again. I was fortunate to have made a huge profit on the sale and so had enough money to clear all my debts, invest in my business and start living my life as a debt free woman.

I did make some mistakes though. I should have invested in another property with some of the proceeds from the sale of my house, however I can’t live in that regret. I just know that since becoming debt free, I have been able to live with much less stress. I have been able to take long and frequent trips abroad. I have also not had to work 365 days per year because I don’t have to service debt.

Why Start A Debt Free Blog?

Well, I have been thinking about others who are in the same position I was in a few years ago. I work online a lot and have recently decided to run a marathon for a charity that helps people get themselves out of DEBT. I figured I could help others as well with my experiences and using some of the tools that I used to settle my debts once and for all.

I will use this blog to write articles and tips on how you can eliminate debts from your life. Where I find sites or tools that help to achieve this, I will try them out and review them on this site so that you can find them too.

Please note, I won’t be advocating consolidation loans or companies that claim they can get rid of your CCJ’s or debts for a fee. I had experience of those types of people and found them infuriating. After all claiming to be able to set up a debt management program for me, and take care of all my creditors, then telling me I can get their service for a fee of £1800, payable up front, doesn’t help if you’ve got 5p to your name.

The are con merchants. I don’t care what they say, they are. I eventually managed to work out for myself, that I was able to settle debts with creditors for less than what I owed them, and you can do this too.

I hope that you find the information on this site useful to your quest. It may take a while for it to build into a really useful resource, but regardless, please let me know if you have had success becoming Debt Free. If this site has helped you to do that, then my job will be done.
